Poll: Should Ireland offer financial aid to Japan?

Should Ireland help out Japan or wait and see where else aid may be needed?

THE TAOISEACH HAS pledged assistance to victims of the Japanese earthquake this afternoon.

Just an hour earlier, a spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs told TheJournal.ie that it was “far too early” to start thinking about whether Ireland should offer any financial assistant to Japan, despite reports that up to 25 countries had already done so.

But do you think we should be contributing to the recovery effort?

Poll Results:

Yes: offer aid (473)
Wait and see where else aid is needed (191)
No: Japan's a wealthy country (187)
