PSNI continue to question man over Derry drowning

PSNI officers have been granted a 36-hour extension to question a man about the death of a 21-year-old man over the weekend.

POLICE OFFICERS INVESTIGATING the death of a 21-year-old man who drowned in the River Bann in Derry over the weekend are continuing to question a man.

PSNI officers have been granted a 36-hour extension to question the 26-year-old about the incident.

Three men were arrested yesterday in connection with the death, which happened at the Bann Road bridge over the river Bann, near Kilrea.

A post-mortem examination is due to carried out on the deceased.
