    Well it would be like Ireland if FG became perma-party and hand picked the only candidates allowed to stand in a general election.

    At least we can still vote them out if we don’t like the way they’re running the country.

    I’m sure there is corruption in China – just as there is everywhere else. However, Enda ‘reform’ Kenny does not preside there and there can be nobody like ‘Big’ Phil even among their 1.3 billion population.

    The protesters stated from the beginning that it was going to be a peaceful protest. And with the ultimatum yesterday from the Chinese government that they would take any steps necessary to reopen the roads and government buildings the protesters knew that to avoid the confrontation that would have lead to violence it was better to leave with dignity and plan a new strategy.
