Man charged following serious road collision in Galway

A 21-year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car at Knocknacarra yesterday afternoon.

A MAN IN his 30s is expected to appear before a sitting of Galway District Court later this morning charged following a serious road collision at Knocknacarra in Galway yesterday.

Gardaí in Salthill are appealing for witnesses following the serious collision at Knocknacarra. At approximately 1.40am a 21-year-old male pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a car on the Barna Road. He was taken by ambulance to University College Hospital Galway where he remains in a serious condition.

The man aged in his 30s was arrested at the scene and detained at Salthill Garda Station under Section 4 of Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
