Man (20s) arrested in connection with murder of Samantha Walsh

The 31-year-old woman’s body was discovered in an apartment in Waterford city.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man in connection with an investigation into the murder of woman whose body was discovered in Waterford city.

Gardaí discovered 31-year-old Samantha Walsh after they were called to an apartment at Thomas Court, Thomas Street at about 3pm Friday afternoon.

The man, aged in his late 20s, is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Waterford Garda Station.

Gardaí have appealed to the public with any information in respect of this crime to contact them. Superintendent Christopher Delaney said:

“…In particular any persons who were in the area of Thomas Street on Thursday night 27 April 2017 and into the early hours of Friday morning. [We're appealing to anyone] who witnessed anything and may have any information which may assist us.”
