Search for two missing fishermen resumes

The search for two fishermen who went missing off the Dublin coast on Friday has resumed today.

THE SEARCH FOR two fishermen missing off the Skerries coast in Dublin resumed at first light this morning.

The men were reported missing after they failed to return to land at 6.30pm on Friday. Their vessel was located by search crews yesterday.

Ronan Browne, 25, and David Gilsenan, 41, were both experienced seamen and qualified marine engineers. They had been on a lobster fishing trip, the Irish Times reports.

A large search crew has been deployed to look for the men. Dublin Coast Guard has deployed three units and three lifeboats as part of the search, while local vessels, a search and rescue helicopter, and the Garda Water Unit are also assisting.

Weather conditions later today might impede the search, RTÉ reports.
