Man dragged through alleyway, shot in both legs

The man was approached by two unknown men while he was walking in Belfast this evening.

POLICE IN BELFAST are investigating after a man was dragged through an alleyway by two unknown men who then shot him three times.

The PSNI said that the incident took place in the Downfine area of Ballymurphy shortly before 6.30pm today.

A 37-year-old man was walking in the area of the Trinity Centre when he was approached by two unknown men, who dragged him through an alleyway before shooting him three times.

He has been taken to hospital but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

He received gunshot wounds to both calves and his left thigh.

Police said that anyone with information on the shooting is asked to phone 0845600 8000 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
