One woman dead and multiple victims at shooting in Austin, Texas

There were two seperate shooting incidents and police are still looking for the suspect.

A WOMAN IN her 30s and four other people have been injured in a shooting in Austin, Texas.

Two women and a man were taken to a local hospital with gunshot injuries, while one man refused medical treatment.

The Austin Police Department tweeted out that there was an ‘active shooter incident’.

In a press briefing police have now confirmed that there were two seperate incidents which occurred in very close proximity – in both location and time.

They said this made them believe it was an active shooter but that was not the case.

In the first incident five people were shot, while the second incident involved a disturbance in an apartment garage where shots were fired but there are no victims.

Police added that it will be part of the investigation whether there was any relationship between the suspect and any of the victims.

Officers are still actively looking for the shooter from the first incidents but a spokesperson said they believe the individual who fired the shots in the garage was “taken down by some citizens who got involved” and he has now been transported to hospital.
