Two men in their 80s dead following overnight house fire in Sligo
The fire broke out last night at a home in the coastal village of Easkey.
TWO MEN IN their 80s have died following an overnight house fire in Co Sligo.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the fire at a residence near the village of Easkey at around 11am this morning.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The scene is currently preserved for a technical examination and gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
Post-mortem examinations will be carried out shortly, the results of which will “determine the course of the investigation,” a garda spokesperson said.
Gardaí have said that initial enquiries indicate that foul play is not suspected at this time.
