Armed robbery at children's play centre leaves staff member injured

The incident happened in south Dublin at around 6pm yesterday evening.

A STAFF MEMBER at a children’s play centre has been injured after an attempted armed robbery in south Dublin.

This happened yesterday at Tallaght Adventure World in the Whitestown Business Park in the suburb of Tallaght.

Three men arrived at the premises in a blue coloured Ford Fiesta armed with an iron bar and a long bladed knife.

Two of the men left the car, with one of them standing outside and the other entering the building.

All three had their faces covered.

The man who entered the play centre demanded cash from a staff member.

Following an altercation in which this staff member was injured, the thief left the scene empty handed.

The staff member was then taken to Tallaght Hospital with a hand injury that has been described as not serious.

Later the Ford Fiesta was found burnt out in the Killinarden area.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
