Wind and rain to clear up just in time for Halloween night

Status Yellow weather warnings that came into effect for six counties today will expire this evening.

LAST UPDATE | 30 Oct 2025

THE WIND AND rain are to subside in most parts of the country tomorrow evening, just in time for trick-or-treating.

Status Yellow weather warnings that came into effect for six counties today will expire this evening.

Met Éireann had warned of spells of heavy rain that could lead to localised flooding, difficult travel conditions and poor visibility.

The Status Yellow rain warnings for counties Cork, Kerry, Galway and Mayo will expire at 8pm.

Wind warnings in Cork, Kerry, Waterford and Wexford will expire at 11pm.

Until then, people in those counties should watch out for gales on coasts that could lead to fallen trees and wave overtopping.

Halloween will start off breezy with spells of wet weather moving over southern and eastern counties in the morning, but these will clear by midday.

Sunny spells will develop throughout the afternoon, though there will be some scattered showers in places.

Trick-or-treaters will be glad to hear that the evening is expected to be generally dry – but rain will start to feed into southern areas early on.

Temperatures will reach highs of 11 to 14.

Saturday will be breezy with some sunny spells and scattered showers, which will be heavier at times for Atlantic counties. Temperatures will reach highs of between 9 and 12 degrees.

Saturday night will be clear and dry for most areas, with scattered showers, again, mainly confined to the west coast.

While Sunday will start off dry and breezy, the late afternoon will see rain from the west move across the country.
