Tania Banotti
Appointment

Tanya Banotti appointed new head of IAPI

Banotti, the daughter of former MEP and presidential candidate Mary Banotti, is to join the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland from May.

TANIA BANOTTI, the head of Theatre Forum Ireland , has been appointed as the new chief executive of the Institute of Advertising Practitioners in Ireland (IAPI).

Banotti takes over the role from Seán McCrave who announced he was stepping down as CEO in November after six years in the role.  The IAPI is the representative body for advertising agencies in Ireland.

An advertising industry source described Banotti as a “much-needed breath of fresh air”.

She has been the CEO of Theatre Forum, which is the representative association for the professional performing arts in Ireland, since 2003. She has previously held senior roles at Screen Producers Ireland and the National Campaign for the Arts.

Liam McDonell, president of the IPAI, said the appointment was an strong one for the organisation.

“The IAPI Board sought someone with outstanding leadership credentials and who can credibly and forcefully represent us. We firmly believe we have found this in Tania,” he said.

The IAPI has said that Banotti will be specifically tasked with increasing the Institute’s profile within government, members, media and industry partners.

She will take up the new role from May of this year.
