Young teenage boys attacked in Down

The two Dundonald teenagers, aged 13 and 14, were assaulted on Saturday night.

POLICE IN CASTLEREAGH are appealing for information following an assault on two teenagers in the Dundonald area on Saturday night.

At about 10pm, two boys, aged 13 and 14, were attacked by a group of unknown men who got out of three cars, close to the entrance to Moat Park.

The PSNI said it is believed that three men got out of each of the cars. One of the men is described as being his his mid-20s, about 5’9″ tall with short, cropped hair and black and red tattoos on both arms. He was wearing light grey tracksuit bottoms and what has been described as “possibly a tank top”.

According to BBC News, which spoke with one of the victim’s father, the incident happened as the children walked home from the Ice Bowl along the East Link Road. According to the father, his son was knocked to the ground, kicked and punched.

It is understood that a woman driving along the road witnessed the attack and pulled over to intervene.
