1. #MORTGAGES: NAMA has unveiled a new pilot programme aimed at encouraging first-time buyers to enter the housing market by insulating them from possible negative equity by up to 20 per cent through a deferred payment scheme.

2. #O CUÍV: Fianna Fáil deputy party leader Eamon Ó Cuív is set to issue a statement shortly after 5pm this evening which will address rumours that he is preparing to resign from the party.

3. #CANNABIS: Researchers at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland have found that cannabis use during adolescence makes physical changes to parts of the brain associated with schizophrenia.

4. #RTÉ: Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte met with the board of RTÉ this morning after the BAI issued its report into the Mission to Prey episode of the Prime Time Investigates series which libelled Fr Kevin Reynolds. Rabbitte said that no resignations were sought or were offered by the board at the meeting, and he was satisfied that the board fully appreciates the seriousness of the situation.

5. #THAT DRESS: Mexico’s electoral commission has criticised the producers of a major televised presidential debate over an outfit worn by one of the production’s assistants. The commission said that the assistant’s rather revealing dress had distracted from the political discussion.
