1.#ELECTION PROBLEMS: A Socialist Party MEP who said that “people wouldn’t be bothered” about his early erection of election posters has been asked to take the offending material down. Paul Murphy put his posters up ahead of the official allowed date, but Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council have told him to take the posters down or face a fine.

2.#RIP: A 25-year-old Corkman has died in a hiking accident in Liechtenstein. Eoin Deasy’s body was found on an Alpine route on Friday and funeral arrangements are underway.

3.#TEACHING: Ireland’s school principals are at “breaking point”, a union leader has warned. Sheila Nunan of the INTO said today that there is a “lack of support and backup” for principals.

4.#HIJACKING: The car that was stolen from a woman in a violent broad daylight hijacking has been recovered. A woman in her 50s was hospitalised in the attack.

5.#SACKED: David Moyes tenure as Manchester United manager is over after less than a year. Moyes had guided United to their worst Premier League finish ever. He will be replaced until the end of the season by veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs.
