1.#ALERT: Gardaí have stood down a previously issued a Child Rescue Alert. The alert was issued after three Roscommon children were reported missing from their homes. The children were found in the Enniskillen area of Nothern Ireland with their mother. All are reported to be safe and well.

2.#FIXER: At least three lower league British footballers have been arrested after an undercover sting revealed a “fixer” who claimed he could influence the outcome of games for as little as £50,000.

3.#KERRY: Gardaí are expected to launch a murder inquiry after the body of a 53-year-old woman was found near Listowel in county Kerry. A 19-year-old man was arrested after the find and an autopsy will be carried out later today.

4.#POWER PLAY: Talks aimed at resolving the ongoing dispute at the ESB resume today. The row centres over a deficit in the firm’s pension scheme and unions say that they are willing to strike, leaving customers without power in the run up to Christmas.

5.#EDUCATION: The non-denominational Educate Together trust will be the patron of five new secondary schools. The body will take on schools in Cork, kildare, Wicklow and two in Dublin. Only one of the nine new schools will be run by a Catholic body.

6.#DR CONGO: An Irish charity has said that Ireland is “leading the way” in tackling gender-based violence. The Irish Consortium on Gender Based Violence held their annual seminar yesterday, outlining the level of violence  against women in the African country.

7.#RETURN?: Former Fianna Fáil minister Mary Hanafin has expressed an interest in a return to politics in the next general election. Hanafin lost her seat in the 2011 election, but would “love” a return to politics. In the interview to air tonight, Hanafin says she isn’t sure people would vote for her.

8.#LIVING WAGE: The Social Protection Minister is today making the case for a Living Wage. Writing on TheJournal.ie Joan Burton says that the system would guarantee low-paid workers a minimum income to be subsidised by the State.

9.#SCREENING: A new rapid access clinic will open in Cork today to allow men be tested for prostate cancer. The private hospital says the clinic will be dedicated to the early diagnosis of prostate cancer and related illnesses.
