Man due in court over aggravated burglary in Tullamore

On Monday evening a man forced his way into the house of an elderly woman and threatened her.

A MAN IN his 20s was due to appear before Tullamore District Court this morning charged in connection with the aggravated burglary on an elderly woman.

The incident occurred on 11 February at a house in St Brigid’s Place, Tullamore. A lone male forced his way into the house of an elderly female and threatened her.

He stole an amount of cash before being disturbed by the woman’s daughter returning home and fled the scene.

Neither woman was injured in the incident and gardaí arrested a man in his 20s a short time later in the Tullamore area in connection with the incident.
