TV3 HAS UNVEILED its schedule for the festive period with plenty of Christmas crackers promised in entertainment, current affairs and the movies.
The station will start the festivities early this year with the result of I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here coming early next month followed by two weeks in mid-December when we’ll discover who is victorious in the Irish version of The Apprentice and the UK and US versions of The X Factor.
Also lined up are a number of Christmas documentaries and specials including Can’t Get Home for Christmas which will hear from those Irish abroad who literally can’t get home for Christmas because of their change in circumstances.
There should be happier tales to tell in Dublin Airport: Coming Home for Christmas while the unstoppable weatherman who is Martin King will host Ireland’s Christmas Wishes which will be making dreams come true for the most deserving children in the land.
There’s plenty of reflection in the Top TV Moments of the Year while Vincent Browne is hosting his very own Political Awards 2011.
And if you’re stuck for something to do on St Stephen’s night then worry not as #VinB will be hosting a St Stephen’s night with Vincent Browne special which is sure to be a real cracker.
In sport there’s Sam’s Town – The Stories from Dublin’s Dressing Room and Kilkenny’s Sweetest Success looking back on the successes of GAA’s All Ireland champions.
Those anticipating the reality programme Tallafornia may be interested to know that TV3 will be running a sneak preview over the festive season before the series hits the screens early in the New Year.
It will probably look a lot like this (Warning: video contains strong language, discretion advised):

There will also be a “massive” Christmas episode of Downton Abbey and if you’re a fan of the old drama you will be interested to know the movies on offer include Public Enemies, The Taking of Pelham 123, The Bourne Identity, The Break Up and The Bucket List as well as perennial favourites Man About Dog and The Snapper which are back due to massive viewer demand.
While over on 3e you can catch plenty of comedy in the form of Tommy Tiernan, PJ Gallagher and Dylan Moran.
