Two killed in Co Galway crash

A motorbike driver and his passenger were killed after their bike collided with a car at Roo Demesne.

TWO PEOPLE were killed in Co Galway today after the motorbike they were travelling on collided with a car on the N67.

The incident occurred between Kinvara and Ballyvaughan at Roo Demesne.

The motorbike driver, a man aged in his 70s, and the female pillion passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was in her 60s.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a technical examination of the scene and diversions are in place. AA Roadwatch reports that the road is unlikely to open before 10pm.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 091 636 400. The Garda Confidential Line is 1800 666 111.
