Two killed in separate road crashes overnight

A man and a woman in her 70s have died after collisions in Wicklow and Kerry.

A MAN AND A woman were killed last night in separate road crashes in Wicklow and Kerry.

The 41-year-old man died when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the N81 at Hempstown outside Blessington, Co Wicklow at around 8.30pm. The driver of the other car, a man in his 20s, was taken to Naas General hospital with minor injuries.

A woman aged 75 was also killed in another two-car collision near Castlemaine, Co Kerry at around 11pm. She was a passenger in one of the vehicles and was pronounced dead at the scene. Both drivers were also injured and were taken to Tralee General Hospital, where their condition was described as serous but stable.
