Two men arrested after €900,000 heroin seizure

The men were arrested after a seizure at a house in Newcastle, County Dublin.

TWO MEN ARE in Garda custody after €900,000 worth of heroin was seized in Dublin.

As part of on-going operations targeting an organised crime gang in the Clondalkin and Ballyfermot areas, gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit, Organised Crime Unit and local drugs unit based in Clondalkin arrested two men aged 33 and 46.

The men were arrested in Newcastle, Co Dublin shortly before noon today.

During the operation, six kilos of heroin with an estimated street value of €900,000 was seized.

Gardaí say that these operations are crucial.

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities. Drug siezures also help protect communities from the devasting impact of drugs and the associated criminality.”
