GARDAÍ INVESTIGATING the murder of gangland figure Eamon Kelly six months ago have this evening arrested a woman.
The woman, aged in her mid-30s, was arrested in Dublin this afternoon and is being questioned at Clontarf Garda Station.
She is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.
Kelly, one of the most senior figures in organised crime in Ireland, was shot dead on a street in Killester at 4pm on December 12 last.
Kelly had several previous criminal convictions including for trafficking cocaine in the 1990s and who had also been jailed for possession of cocaine.
His death was linked to tension between a number of criminal gangs following the death of Real IRA member Alan Ryan.
