Woman dead and passenger in critical condition after single-vehicle collision in Co Sligo

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward and said investigations are ongoing.

A WOMAN WAS killed in the early hours of this morning in a single-vehicle crash in Co Sligo that also injured the driver and another passenger, who is in a critical condition.

The crash happened at around 3:30am on the N15 at Grellagh, Castlegal.

One passenger, a woman in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency services arrived.

Another passanger, a man in his 50s, was brought to Sligo University Hospital, where his condition was described as critical, a Garda spokesperson said.

The driver, a man in his 20s, was also taken to hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to come forward and said investigations are ongoing.

The road had been closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Road users who may have camera footage (including from dash-cams) and were travelling on the N15 at Castlegal – between Cliffoney and Tullaghan – between 3:10am and 3:40am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
