Woman dies after car 'struck a barrier' on motorway in Tipperary

The incident happened at around 7am this morning.

A WOMAN HAS died following a single vehicle collision in Nenagh, Co Tipperary this morning.

The incident happened on the M7 motorway between junction 23 and 24 northbound at around 7am.

A female driver, the only occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí understand from initial investigations that the car struck a barrier.

The patch of road in question is currently closed to facilitate a garda forensic collision investigation and will remain closed for a number of hours. Diversions are in place.

Witnesses are asked to contact Nenagh Garda Station on 067 504 50, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
