Woman shot in mistaken identity attack in Bray

Shot fired through the window of a house on Greenpark Road struck woman in lower back.

A WOMAN WHO WAS SHOT AND injured at around 7.30pm yesterday in Bray, Co Wicklow, could have been mistaken for someone else by a criminal gang.

The woman, who is in her late 40s, was struck in the lower back by a shot fired through the window of her house in Greenpark Road, Bray.

She was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital and her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The scene has been sealed off for a forensic examination.

RTÉ’s Paul Reynolds reported on News at One that gardaí now believe the woman may have been the victim of mistaken identity. They suspect a criminal gang linked with Dublin drug dealers is involved in the shooting.
