ALLIANZ INSURANCE AND Women’s Aid, supported by Gym+Coffee, are inviting you to #StandStrong this bank holiday in solidarity with women subjected to domestic abuse.
The #StandStrong movement aims to engage and empower the people of Ireland to help combat domestic abuse while raising much needed funds to help Women’s Aid support victims and survivors.
Taking place on the 6th of February, the #StandStrong movement hopes to raise €2.4 million over the next three years to help the work of Women’s Aid – the equivalent of €1 for every woman in Ireland.
1 in 4 women are subjected to domestic abuse in Ireland. In many cases, stigma, shame and fear stop women from reaching out for support. Women’s Aid listens, believes and supports everyone who contacts its services.
So, how can you help? Join Allianz Insurance and Women’s Aid on the 6th February, on Bray Seafront to #StandStrong by doing the yoga warrior pose – a pose traditionally associated with focus, confidence and courage – to show your support and solidarity.
Meeting at 11am opposite Catalyst Coffee on Bray Seafront, participants will complete the warrior pose together as part of a wider yoga session with the incredible Yoga and Mindfulness guru Yin Yoga Jen. Be sure to register now as places are limited.
Tickets are priced at €25 for adults, €10 for kids and we also have a donate what you can option with 100% of all ticket prices going to Women’s Aid.
If you can’t attend the main event you can still do the yoga warrior pose to show your support and solidarity with women subjected to domestic abuse at a location that suits you and donate here. Remember to share a photo online using the hashtag #StandStrong.
The aim is to flood social media with warrior pose images and show those impacted that the nation is standing in support of them while also raising much needed funds for Women’s Aid.
