Unfortunately this morning is cold, wet and windy in many parts of the country.
Three weather warnings are now in effect including one orange alert, the second most serious warning, for Cork and Kerry.
Here are the details:
Wind warning for Cork and Kerry from 2am until 9am.
Wind warning for Clare, Limerick and Waterford from 2am until 9am.
Westerly winds will reach mean speeds of 55 to 65 km/h with gusts of 90 to 100 km/h, strongest winds along the coast.
Weather warning for Ireland – until midday
An Atlantic depression will track eastwards and bring storm force winds to southwest and southern coasts of Ireland this morning. There will also be extreme waves along the southwest and west coast during this period with wave heights of between 12 and 15m possible.
As Storm Imogen kicks in, some train routes have been affected by flooding:

Cork is one of the areas badly affected by high winds:
A fallen tree is also partially blocking traffic in Kerry:
In Dublin, a collision on the Dundrum Bypass just after the junction of Wyckham Way is partially blocking both the inbound and outbound lanes.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s going on in a number of counties traffic-wise, via AA Roadwatch:
LIMERICK CITY: The Condell Road is closed inbound at Clonmacken Road due to flooding. North of the city, the Corbally Road is also impassable near Grove Island. In the city centre, O’Callaghan Strand, Clancy’s Strand and Island Road are all affected by flooding. Use alternative routes and drive with care around the city as surface water is a problem on most routes.
LIMERICK: Traffic cones are obstructing traffic on the N21 Limerick/Tralee Road on the Newcastle West side of Templeglantine following high winds. Extreme care is needed.
KERRY: A fallen tree is partially blocking traffic on the N22 Killarney/Tralee Road at Brennan’s Glen between Farranfore and Killarney.
CORK CITY: There are fallen electricity lines on Bakers Road in Cork city centre. Take care on approach.
CORK: There are fallen electricity lines on the road in the Main Street in Baltimore.
CORK: A fallen tree on the Curravarahane to Carhue Hill Road at Baxters Bridge is blocking one lane. Traffic is getting by with care.
CORK: Traffic lights are out of action on the N25 Cork/Waterford Road at Castlemartyr Bridge. Take care on approach.
CLARE: There are boulders on the Spanish Point/Quilty Rd (R482).
TIPPERARY: The M8 Cork/Dublin Road remains closed to northbound traffic between J7 Cashel North and J6 Thurles following a serious crash. It’s expected that the motorway will remain closed until mid-morning. Diversions are in place via the Cashel/ Durrow Rd (R639).
TIPPERARY: There is a collision on the M7 Limerick/Dublin Road northbound between J22 Roscrea and J21 Borris-in-Ossory on the hard shoulder. Drive with care on approach.
MONAGHAN/ARMAGH/LOUTH: No further reports of traffic being down to one lane on the A37/N53 Castleblayney/Dundalk Road near Cullaville following a serious crash.
The Luas is experiencing delays on its inbound service on the Green Line from Dundrum to St Stephen’s Green due to an incident.
You may have noticed there was a minor sporting event in the US last night.

Live Drive is reporting a collision on the M50 southbound in Dublin, between J5 Finglas and J6 Blanchardstown on the hard shoulder.

A fallen tree has been cleared in Kerry, but one is causing delays in Limerick:
In Cork, the fallen tree on the Curravarahane to Carhue Hill Road at Baxters Bridge has also been cleared, according to AA Roadwatch.
In Limerick, there are service disruptions on Bus Éireann’s 305 and 306 routes.
Meanwhile, Condell Road in the city has re-opened after flooding.
The 202 bus route in Cork is also having some issues:

Power outage update: The ESB says it’s experiencing a major fault in Glengarriff, Co Cork. More information can be found here.

As the county has been particularly badly hit with bad weather conditions this morning, Bus Éireann has this advice for people in Cork:
Thousands of people in the south of the country have been affected by power outages, with Cork particularly badly affected.
The ESB says it is working to restore power as soon as possible.
Moving to Leitrim, AA Roadwatch is reporting delays due to a broken-down truck on the N4 Sligo/Dublin Road at the bridge in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Before we leave you, here’s a breakdown of traffic conditions in Dublin and elsewhere, via AA Roadwatch:
There are reports a collision at the Spawell outbound on the N81 Tallaght Bypass heading towards Tallaght. Traffic is busy through to the M50 Interchange.
On the M50 southbound, there is a collision between J5 Finglas and J6 Blanchardstown on the hard shoulder. Traffic is still busy from J6 to J10 Ballymount. Northbound traffic is slow at J12 and at J6.
Inbound on the N4 Lucan Road is busy from J3 Lucan to Palmerstown. Further in on this route, Con Colbert Road is heavy through to St Johns Road West at Heuston Station.
Parkgate Street is busy onto the North Quays, which are busy from Wolfe Tone Quay to Bachelors Walk.
Church St inbound is very busy from the North King Street junction to the Quays.
Amiens Street inbound has delays from Edge’s Corner in Fairview right through to Memorial Bridge.

LIMERICK: Traffic is slow inbound on the Corbally Road from Westbury to Athlunkard Street. Apart from that, traffic around the city is moving reasonably well.
Works are due take place on South Circular Road, between Lifford Avenue and New Street from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily until Friday. Delays are likely on SCR and New Street.
CORK: The N28 Ringaskiddy Road inbound is slow from the Carrigaline Road junction to before the Rochestown Road junction. The N40 South Ring Rd is slow eastbound J10 Mahon to the Dunkettle Interchange while westbound there are delays from after J10 Mahon to after J9 Bloomfield. Close by there are also delays on the N8 Dublin Road inbound approaching the Dunkettle Interchange. The Douglas Road inbound is slow from the Tramore Lawn junction to the Old Blackrock Road jct.
Lane restrictions will be in place on Albert Quay until Friday from 9.30am to 6pm for works.
Works are taking place on Mulgrave Road until approximately Friday, 26 February. The road is closed to inbound traffic and diversions are in place.
GALWAY: It’s slow travelling into Galway on the N17 Tuam Road from the Abbeyknockmoy turn off to Claregalway. It’s heavy approaching the Kirwan roundabout from Ballinfoyle on the N84 Headford Road inbound and also from the Bothar na dTreabh side. It’s busy too coming into the city on the Kingston Road onto Bishop O’Donnell Road which is busy itself in both directions.
Works will take place on Coolough Road until approximately 31 July. Rolling lane closures and temporary traffic lights will be in place. Expect delays.

WATERFORD: It’s slow on the Parnell Road inbound from the Catherine Street junction through to The Mall at the Lombard St junction.
