Fake documents raid: Man arrested in joint operation by Gardaí and Met Police

The man was arrested and is being detained at a north Dublin city garda station.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED a man after a number of searches related to fake documents were carried out in Dublin today.

The man, who is in his 40s and believed to be from north Africa, was arrested in connection with the investigation.

He’s currently detained in a north city garda station for an offence under Section 6 of the Criminal Justice (Terrorist Offences) (Amendment) Act 2015.

Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit working with London’s Met Police searched a number of properties in Dublin as part of an ongoing operation targeting possession of fraudulent documents.

When asked for further details on today’s raids, a spokesperson from An Garda Síochána said it would be inappropriate to discuss the matter further at this stage.
