THERE ARE REPORTS of a large fire breaking out Wicklow Town this afternoon.
East Coast FM radio station reports that the fire broke out at a derelict factory at the Murrough area of the town.
One local resident told TheJournal.ie that fire engines are at the scene “coming from as far as Arklow to deal with it”.
“Lots of black smoke can be seen from the motorway,” they added.

Emergency services are at the scene and people are being urged to avoid the area.
In a separate incident, emergency services are at the scene of a car on fire at Cherrywood business park.
It’s understood the fire is causing some visibility issues for drivers, who are urged to take care.
