Car seized after overtaking garda car at over 100 kph

The vehicle had no NCT since 2015 and the front tyres were bald.

A CAR WAS seized after the driver overtook a marked garda car going over 100 kilometres per hour.

The vehicle had no NCT since 2015 and officers reported that the front tyres of the car were also bald.

It comes as gardaí continue the Christmas and New Year anti drink driving campaign which was launched on 1 December.

There was a 34% increase in the number of drink driving arrests this December, compared to the same time last year.

Gardaí are appealing to drivers to be responsible after the increase in arrests.
