Information sought on stolen car after Dublin shooting

Gardaí are appealing for information on the movements of a stolen car found burned-out near the scene of today’s fatal shooting in Ballyfermot.

GARDAÍ HAVE released further details surrounding the fatal shooting of a man in Ballyfermot, Co Dublin this morning.

The man in his 30s was shot dead while sitting in a van on Cherry Orchard Avenue just before 7am today.

A dark blue Opel Astra car was found burned-out on the Inagh Road in Ballyfermot shortly after the shooting.

Gardaí say this car – registration 99 CE 3047 – was stolen on 23 November and they are appealing to anyone who may have information on the car’s movements over the past five days to contact them at Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 666 7200, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Gardaí are also appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of this morning’s shooting to contact them, such as taxi or bus drivers or people travelling to work.
