A YOUTH HAS been released without charge after being arrested over a fatal stabbing incident in Co Offaly on Sunday night.
A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutors, gardaí said.
At around 7.48pm that evening, gardaí were called to a house on Green Road, Ballyfore, Edenderry, to respond to reports of a man with serious stab wounds.
Despite the efforts of the medical personnel, a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí arrested a juvenile male in relation to the incident. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Tullamore Garda Station before being released on Tuesday 21 November.
The house was sealed off pending the arrival of the State Pathologist and the Garda Technical Bureau to carry out a forensic examination of the area.
