Body of man recovered from Arklow river

The body of an unidentified man believed to be in his 40s was recovered late last night.

THE BODY OF an unidentified man was recovered from the Avoca River in Arklow river late last night, Gardaí have confirmed.

Gardaí were alerted to the scene at the South Quay at approximately 10.30pm and the RNLI recovered the body of a man at approximately 11pm.

The body of the man was removed to  St Columcille’s Hosiptal in Loughlinstown.

The deceased has not yet been identified but is believed to be aged in his 40s.

Gardaí are continuing investigations.
