Motorcyclist killed in collision in Cavan

The man in his 20s died when his motorcycle collided with a truck in Belturbet this morning.

A GARDA INVESTIGATION is under way after a motorcyclist was killed in a collision in Cavan this morning.

The man in his 20s was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a truck at Drumgart in Belturbet at around 11.25am today.

He was taken to Cavan General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The road at Drumgart is currently closed while a team of Garda forensic investigators conduct an examination of the scene.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact Ballyconnell Garda Station on 049 – 9525580, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
