Teenager killed in Limerick when his quad bike collided with a tractor

The horrific crash occurred on the Oola to Doon road this afternoon.

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy died this afternoon after the quad bike he was driving collided with a tractor in county Limerick.

The tragic incident occurred on the Oola to Doon Road, about three miles outside Oola, at about 1.45pm.

Gardaí have said the teenager was fatally injured in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick.

The driver of the tractor was not injured. It is understood the tractor was hedgecutting at the time of the incident.

The road remains closed for forensic examinations and local diversions are in place.
