Well, I suppose he did manage to shuffle his debts and losses onto someone else. Could do well for us in Europe…
Interesting.
He could sell Coillte, the ESB, Bord Gáis, the roads, our Aer Lingus stake and the NPRF to some upstanding eastern businessmen, and the we could collect cash payments back to the state while hiding those assets from the troika bagmen.
Afterall, Ireland was a very profitable country and the envy of Europe until those European receivers came in and told lies about our budget deficit.
Capable of running businesses into the ground – Check.
Brass Balls – Check.
Able to gain the support of the easily suggestible, who can’t seem to see him for what he is – Check.
I’d say he’s well qualified for it.
These people do realise we will be paying a 2+% ‘Quinn levy’ on our insurance for years, yeah?
Wouldn’t surprise me at all. He would join a list of chancers that have held the post.
Given that the High Court judge already called him a liar you can say or print pretty much anything you like about Sean Quinn along the lines of dishonesty.
Defamation only applies if he can prove the statement of ‘Quinn is a liar’ is proved to be untrue. Which he can’t, especially after admitting to it in a number of TV interviews. He also lied about repaying the Irish taxpayer in an interview 2 years ago.
So I’ll say it, just for posterity: SEAN QUINN IS A LIAR

on the other hand, opportunity for defacing anything to do with quinn (in retatliation for his defacing of everything to do with us) is too good to be missed!

Ireland take note, it is because of this colloquialism horse manure that we are where we are today – “Doesn’t matter what he did, he’s from Cavan and I am going to stick up for him!” We deserve every thing we get if that’s the attitude of supposed intelligent adults in this country. I was embarrassed to be a GAA fan when clowns like Colm O Rourke etc claimed to represent the GAA fraternity on a whole at the supporters march! My mind boggles when I see people out supporting this guy! No one needs to stick the knife in, granted, but to come out and publicly support him is moronic beyond belief!
Sadly your absolutely right, a crooked people cannot elect a straight govt. Wasn’t Berties explanations on winning it on the horses no impediment to being Taoiseach so long as the gravy was rolling, only now do many suggest higher standards should be expected.
Do Cavan people know that there is no General Election taking place?

The last laugh will be on the antiquinners if Sean Quinn decides to run in the next election as he would top the poll. Maybe it will come to that, to get the truth told about what really happened.
Sean Quinn took on monopolies before. He will do it again and win.
He would top the Poll, and be elected be naive and ignorant people, there is certainly alot more to Sean Quinn’s case than the IBRC would like people to believe but blatant disregard for the authority of the Irish Courts and lies on top of lies, delusion and recklessness are what have Sean and his family in their current predicament. Their public rallies and calls for support only occurred after they were found out for what they did, had it occured before and had they chose to fight their case within the laws of the state and respect the Courts as a vital independent part of any democracy they would have alot more sympathy, while Quinn has very valid reasons to fight back its only the ignorant, the gullible and the misguided that would suggest he is the victim in all the nonsense that transpired.
Why can’t a law be passed, so that you can’t lobby a politician in the dail. Be it business or personal, so we can stop this gombeen/parish pump/ local pothole filling td. All lobbyist should be registered and publicly submit any changes to law they wish to propose. A simple law that states, It’s an offence to lobby a member of the Dail, to pass or change laws in your favour. A life sentence and hefty fine, for doing so!
Let’s refer to him as Sean CFD Quinn from now on. Maybe that will eventually teach his knuckle dragging supporters where he’s coming from. He seems to have convinced the idiots that he was conned into BUYING Anglo shares. Nothing could be further from the truth.
One hundred per cent of Quinn supporters wouldn’t recognise a Contract For Difference if they tripped over it. The really sad aspect of this is that Sean Quinn didn’t really understand either and now we are left to pay for his stupidity and greed.
He should be locked up for embezzlement.
These people genuinely believe their support for him is right and proper, it would seem they have allowed anger and ignorance to dictate their behaviour rather than taking the time to have a dispassionate look at the facts and then decide whether their unequivocal support is a appropriate. Embarrasing themselves to support one of the world’s biggest gamblers ever who simply cannot face the consequences of his failed bets.
Bankrupt? Sure facts are for same people as taxes.
It’s nice though to know that he would be bothered by such trifles as seeking support from the people
