WE’RE SORRY WE have to kick start your Tuesday with this but Met Éireann’s rainfall radar pretty much confirms that summer is over, for the time being at least.
The meteorological agency forecasts “persistent and locally heavy rain” through the midlands, north and east at first that will clear northwest as the day progresses.
It will be drier with scattered outbreaks in the south and southwest as the day progresses and we might even see some bright periods but there are heavy rainfalls forecast in the south and west later.
At least temperates will be a balmy 16 to 19 degrees but you’ll have to forego the work on your tan for the time being.
