A 19-YEAR-OLD man was killed in a road crash in Tipperary this morning.

The teenager was the driver and sole occupant of the car when it struck a tree on the main Fethard to Killenaule road at about 8.30am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Waterford General Hospital for a post-mortem exam.

Gardaí have advised that the road is currently closed for forensic examinations.
