Scuba diver dies after getting into difficulty off Waterford coast

The man (38) was airlifted to hospital by the Coast Guard.

A SCUBA DIVER has died after getting into difficulty off the coast at Ardmore, County Waterford.

Gardaí said the man (38) got into difficulty yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene and crew from the Coast Guard Rescue 117 helicopter airlifted the man to University Hospital Waterford.

He was subsequently pronounced dead.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
