AN IRISH MODEL has spoken about her experience standing in for reality tv star and style icon Kim Kardashian West.

Galway model Shahira Barry, 23, says she was so star-struck that she “totally forgot” to ask Kardashian about her Irish honeymoon with rapper Kanye West.

“I got a call last week saying that they thought I was the perfect look for a stand in,” Athenry-native Barry told the Anton Savage Show on Today FM.

I got a call sheet that said it would be an E! promo, which gave me an idea who it might be.

I didn’t want to get my hopes up, because I’ve watched the show since the beginning – they’re my style icons.

Barry says she was “over the moon” when her suspicions were confirmed.

I barely slept on Thursday night because I was so excited.

I was a stand in for the different set ups. I got to do the shoot myself so they could test the lighting. I wish I got to actually keep the end result, because the shoot was amazing.

It seems the various Kardashians made a very positive impression on Barry, who says they all ‘look better in the flesh’.

“Kim is so sweet, so smiley and happy and is a really nice person,” she said.

I would have been let down if they were anything but the way they were on TV, because then you would think that the show is a fake.

Barry also confirmed that the Kardashians as a collective (kollective?) have very nice posteriors indeed.

They’ve all got really good bums, all of them. Their figures are just unbelievable, Kendall as well.

She has a supermodel figure, but she actually has a bum as well. She has a nice bum. I thought that she was going to be stick thin up and down. She is really skinny, but she has curves.

Barry has been based in Los Angeles since 2014 and is hoping the experience with the Kardashians can help kickstart an acting career (she has already had parts in True Detective and Ted 2).

I’m not where I want to be yet, but I have so many stories that I can already tell my grandkids that are really bizarre for a girl from Athenry.
