Shane Ross: I don't jump at every microphone that comes my way

He’s faced accusations of self-promotion and self-interest, but the independent TD has hit back in an interview with TheJournal.ie

SHANE ROSS HAS denied that he is in politics for the sole purposes of self-promotion having faced such accusations in recent times.

The outspoken independent TD for Dublin South has been accused of only being interested in “getting on the 6 o’clock news” with his conduct on the Dáil’s Public Accounts Committee which has been at the centre of various political controversies in 2014.

Earlier this year when the committee argued over the release of a transcript of evidence from Garda whistleblower Maurice McCabe Ross’s PAC colleague, John Deasy, said the issue had become “more about individuals, and their insatiable thirst for publicity”.

But speaking to TheJournal.ie recently, Ross denied he was in it for the headlines and also addressed whether his weekly column in the Sunday Independent conflicted with his work:
