Two men arrested after armed robbery in Sligo town

A quantity of drugs was stolen from a pharmacy just before 11am this morning.

GARDAÍ IN SLIGO have arrested two men after a robbery this morning in the town.

One man walked into a pharmacy on Cranmore Road in Sligo town just before 11am armed with a suspected gun. He threatened staff, and left the premises with a quantity of drugs.

Gardaí later conducted a search of a house near the scene.

At that address, a man in his 20s and a man in his 30s were arrested.

They are currently being detained in Ballymote Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

Gardaí are urging any witnesses to contact them at Sligo Garda Station on 071 915 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
