A weather and gale warning has also been issued, with winds of up to gale force 6 expected at times of the east coast and Irish Sea. Meanwhile, northeast winds will increase strong gale force 9 tonight on coasts from Slyne Head to Rossan Point to Malin head.

The Irish Coast Guard have urged people to pay attention to the weather warnings – strongly advising the public not to go out on exposed coasts, cliffs, piers, harbour walls, beaches, promenades or any other coastal areas during the inclement weather.
