Power outages reported as bad weather leads to faults
ESB Networks are on the case.

A NATIONAL WEATHER alert remains in place as strong winds have resulted in cancelled flights and travel disruption in various parts of the country.
Gusts as strong as 125kph were recorded in coastal areas last night. Earlier Met Éireann predicted predicts gusts strong as 90 to 110 km/h at times this evening and overnight.
This evening, strong winds damaged power lines between Dalkey and Bray and Irish Rail was forced to halt services on that line.
Power outages
The bad weather has led to power outages in some parts of the country.
Tonight, Blanchardstown, Coolmine and Fortlawn were all affected by electricity faults;
Earlier, ESB Networks said there is a large fault in Kilcoole, with other faults in Mayo.

Cancelled flights
High winds cancelled six flights at Dublin airport overnight, with many flights experiencing difficulty landing. Since then, many flights have been departing as normal but a large number of flights arriving in Dublin were delayed.
Shannon Airport said flights were “largely on schedule” despite the windy conditions but Cork Airport also said some of its flights had to be diverted of cancelled.
Passengers are being advised to check with their airline for updates on their flight before heading to the airport, as more could be delayed.
Motorists are also being advised to be careful of wet conditions.
Unfortunately, it looks like tomorrow will bring more of the same, with the national forecaster predicting a cold and windy day with scattered showers. Winds will be “strong and gusty” but there will be some “good sunny spells” all across the country.
