great drying out

Good news! It's sunny and warm right now (bad news: it won't last)

Curse you, Irish weather. Curse you.

THE IRISH SPRING is here, with temperatures reaching 16 degrees this afternoon in the capital. However, the Irish winter is expected to return tonight.

Met Eireann has issued a wind warning for today, which is in effect until midnight tonight.

Despite the weather being perfectly pleasant where we are, tonight, tomorrow and the days ahead are expected to get wild.

Tonight will be “cold, wet and windy overnight as heavy and persistent rain gradually spreads eastwards”, say Met Eireann.

Tomorrow will start wet, become sunny, then start raining again. If that wasn’t enough, tomorrow night will see sharp frost (sharp frost!).

Friday and Saturday will both be “cold and blustery days, with sunshine but passing showers too”, with highs of around 8 degrees.

Sunday will see another cold and breezy day, with some showers, hail and the threat of sleet.

So there, enjoy the next few hours of sun, it may be a while before we see it again.
