Cloud, rain, wind and sun all forecast for the weekend

It will remain cloudy in the east with some showers until afternoon. Highest temperatures will range between 15 and 19 degrees.

IT WILL BE a wet and cloudy start to the weekend before brightening up on Sunday and getting a lot nicer early next week.

According to Met Éireann, widespread rain early this morning will clear eastwards with brighter weather developing in the west as the day progresses.

It will remain cloudy in the east with some showers until afternoon. Highest temperatures will range between 15 and 19 degrees.

It will be mostly dry but cloudy tonight with lowest temperatures of nine to 11 degrees. A storm out on the Atlantic will mean strong winds coming in off the west coast.

Saturday will remain dry for most of the day but it will be cloudy. Rain will start in the west on Saturday afternoon and spread eastwards into evening and night.

It will be nicely mild with top temperatures of 18 to 19 degrees.

There will be some rain overnight on Saturday but it will remain mostly dry.

Scattered showers with good bursts of sunshine are expected for Sunday. Highs of 15 to 19 degrees and light variable winds.

Come Monday, bright, sunny weather is expected with highs of 17 and 19 degrees.
