Two more released over murder of publican John Kenny

The investigation into the Galway publican and teacher’s death continues with a woman arrested last night still in Garda custody.

TWO MEN WHO were being held by Gardaí investigating the murder of publican and teacher John Kenny last month have been released.

The two men, aged 17 and the other in their 30s, were part of a group of four who were arrested yesterday morning in Galway. They have now been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The other two men who were being held were released without charge earlier today and a file is also being prepared on them for the DPP.

Meanwhile the woman in her 30s who was arrested late last night in Claregalway remains in Garda custody and is being held at Mill Street under section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act.

Kenny was found dead at his family’s pub in the village of Oughterard, Co Galway on 25 September by his daughter.

One man arrested last week and charged with withholding information in connection with the murder investigation is due in court again on Friday. Florin Fitzpatrick, 37, of The Green, College Road, Galway was refused bail at the weekend.
