90-year-old woman dies after Dublin crash

The woman – a pedestrian – died after the collision in Drumcondra in Dublin.

A 90-YEAR-OLD WOMAN has died after a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on a small residential road in Drumcondra in Dublin.

The pedestrian was seriously injured after the collision which happened at around 6.35pm on Tuesday evening at the junction of Crawford Avenue and Iona Road.

She was brought to the nearby Mater hospital but died in the early hours of this morning.

A 26-year-old woman who was the sole occupant of the car involved in the collision was uninjured.

The road was closed for a technical examination of the scene and re-opened just after midnight.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Gardaí in Mountjoy on 01 – 666 8600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
