1. #BUDGET 2014: The Dáil has passed all stages of the Social Welfare and Pensions Bill which gives effect to the spending cuts announced in last week’s Budget. The bill now goes to the Seanad the week after next.

2. #MARIA: DNA tests have confirmed that a Bulgarian Roma couple are the biological parents of the little blonde girl taken from another Roma family in Greece in a case which sparked an international controversy that spread to Ireland this week.

3. #FIREFIGHTERS: Wicklow County Council has been fined over €350,000 after pleading guilty to three charges related to the deaths of two firefighters in Bray six years ago. Additional costs of nearly €100,000 were also awarded.

4. #ELAINE O’HARA: The man charged with the murder of childcare worker Elaine O’Hara has appeared in court again today. Graham Dwyer, 41, is to make a bail application the week after next. [RTÉ]

5. #RYANAIR: Michael O’Leary’s pledge to improve customer service at the low-cost airline has been followed through on today with promises to cut fees and bring in quiet flights. There are also website improvements in the offing. Yep, seriously.
