1. #BELFAST: Twenty-six PSNI officers were injured when loyalists rioted in the Royal Avenue area of Belfast overnight. Five of the officers were taken to hospital.

2. #O’ROURKE: RTÉ has announced that the News at One presenter Sean O’Rourke will take over Pat Kenny’s 10am to 12noon slot on RTÉ Radio 1.

3. MISSING WOMAN: Irish woman Michaella McCollum Connolly who was reported missing in Ibiza has been found in Peru. The 20-year-old is being held there on suspicion of involvement in drug trafficking, according to RTÉ News.

4. #FRENCH LESSONS: The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation spent over €222,000 on training courses for staff between September last year and June of this year, including nearly €500 on a whiteboard training course and over €700 on French lessons. Thousands of euro was also spent on stress management, team work and problem solving courses.

5. #ENERGY HIKE: A price hike of €120 is on the cards for families after Bord Gáis requested a 7.22 per cent increase from the energy regulator.

6. #MONAGHAN: An elderly man was killed yesterday evening in Monaghan when his car and a truck collided at Mount Lodge Demesne on the main Rockcorry to Shercock Road at around 5pm.

7. #LOANS: Just 90 loans have been approved by government scheme for small businesses. The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation said it is working to promote greater awareness of the scheme in the business community.

8. #ASTRID: Reports that several items were stolen from the wreck of the Tall Ship Astrid have turned out to be untrue after a group of divers recovered the ship’s bell, compass and wooden wheel at Kinsale Harbour yesterday.

9. #ART FOR BLIND: A new art exhibition will be accessible to blind audiences. The Kilkenny Arts Festival will use a device that will take audiences through descriptions of the works, as well as statements by the artists and curators of the exhibition.
